Our Studio
We are a boutique Classical Pilates studio dedicated to the original work of Joe Pilates.
Our equipment, the Balanced Body Contrology Line and Legacy Apparatus, is built to Joe Pilates’ original specifications – the best Classical equipment available. Fine Tuning Pilates is one of only two Balanced Body Authorised Demo Centres in the UK.
Joe Pilates designed Classical apparatus to correct your movements and to challenge you to work harder.
We will teach you, but expect you to do the work. Pilates is a life skill – your transformation requires consistency and commitment.
At our studio, we will give all the support you need, and through patience and dedication, you will start to feel strong, flexible, balanced, and in control. The Pilates method will become your own.
We recommend 2–3 sessions per week to experience meaningful results.
Our approach is rooted in authenticity, without mixing in other movement styles, so you can learn Pilates in its purest form.
In the Classical Pilates method, the closer the teacher is to the original source, the more authentic your Pilates experience will be. When the method is diluted, it loses its depth and intention.
If you are looking for the real transformation, you are in the right place.

Our Instructor
Gi
Before moving to the UK, Gi lived in Tokyo for over a decade, working as a Lecturer in International Relations and an Interpreter for the Japanese Ministry of International Trade and Industry.
After having her children, she was diagnosed with a herniated spine. She spent years trying different approaches, including physiotherapy, before being offered surgery as a last resort.
Instead, she found Pilates.
What began as a way to manage pain gradually became a long-term practice, and eventually her work.
With over 20 years of experience, Gi has a deep understanding of how Pilates can support the body – especially for those dealing with pain, injury, or wanting to move and feel better in everyday life.
She holds two comprehensive certifications and is a 3rd generation teacher: first with Lolita’s Legacy, founded by Lolita San Miguel, a direct student of Joe Pilates; and then through the Classical Progression program with Karen Frischmann, whose work is rooted in the teachings of Jay Grimes, a direct student of both Joe and Clara Pilates.
Gi continues her studies with Karen Frischmann and Sandy Shimoda at Vintage Pilates, the home of Jay Grimes. She is dedicated to her own practice, regularly attending workshops. She believes the best practitioner is always a student.
She brings this mindset into every session – teaching with care, attention, and a genuine interest in helping each person progress in their own way.
Gi is based in Edinburgh with her husband and three children. Beyond the studio, she enjoys baking sourdough, cooking, and experimenting with fermentation.
The Benefits of Classical Pilates
Build Strength Without Strain
Develop deep, functional strength and stability while protecting your joints. It is ideal for post-surgery recovery or anyone wanting a safer, more controlled approach to exercise.
Move with Ease in Everyday Life
Feel more capable and confident in daily activities – walking, bending, lifting, or keeping up with family. Perfect for adults looking to maintain mobility and independence.
Enhance Athletic Performance
Improve your core strength, control, and alignment to move efficiently, boost performance, and reduce the risk of injury. This is great for athletes or anyone wanting to refine movement quality.
Reduce Stress & Reconnect with Your Body
Mindful movement and breath work helps to calm the nervous system, reduce stress, and deepen body awareness. Pilates is beneficial for anyone seeking a stronger mind-body connection.
Restore Mobility & Improve Posture
Increase flexibility, release tension, and realign posture to stand taller and move with ease. Desk-bound professionals or those feeling the effects of long periods of sitting will benefit.
